As I was browsing my fav blogs this AM I ran across Suzanne's, At Home With the Farmer's Wife. she had taken up Mary's book tag so I thought I would too. I have just finished The Secret Life of Bees, by Sue Monk Kidd. Wow. all I have to say is "Wow." You must read. Anyway.. the tag goes like this..
1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages).
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people.

Sentence #5: "That night, when the darkness was weighed down with singing crickets and Rosaleen was snoring right along with them, I had myself a good cry."
The next three: "I couldn't even say why. Just everything, I guess. Because I hated lying to August when she was so good to me."
OK, two more, just to tease you.. "Because Rosaleen was probably right about dream worlds. Because I was pretty sure the Virgin Mary was not back there on the peach farm standing in for me the way she'd stood in for Beatrix."
The last request, to tag five people, well, consider yourself tagged if you wish!
Now, as for the above pic, Martha went and cancelled her newest Magazine, Blueprint! WTF? I love this Magazine!! It is so fresh, young, and chic! It helps me remember that there is an elegant, suave world out there! Oh, well.. they are adding to my Living subscription instead.. nothin' good lasts forever I suppose. I am very disappointed.. my journal/sketchbook lays on top of it.. atleast that won't be cancelled anytime soon, although if my creative fire doesn't start burnin' again it might well be!

I'll have to pick that book up. I've seen it on a couple gal's lists and I am curious :-)
My daughter has brought her Blueprint mag for me to look at and I always thought "I should order that to keep in touch with the girl in me" and I never did. So, it's my fault it was cancelled! Righhhhht! Still, I am sorry it's gone. It was a good concept.
Stay warm....we got some snow today...so I imagine it'll be knocking on your door next ((hugs)) Rosie
I've read the book and thought it wonderful...re: Martha...why is it when something works it never lasts?? Loved the peek at your journal! Why do you say the creative juices aren't flowing?? Looks like they are in your journal!!
Hi Abbie,
I'm so glad you joined the fun! Have you ever considered using a sentence from a book for inspiration? I agree with Tara -- your journal looks like a work of art!
We are getting some snow here tonight. I'm sure you must be getting even more! So stay warm!
xoxo,
mary
I've listened to that book on tape. I enjoyed it very much. I just finished Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett and really enjoyed that.
I wish it would get warmer and STOP snowing so we could mosey in the sunshine soon. :-)
I read that book and enjoyed it very much!

I've been enjoying reading the various book memes being posted. It's fun to discover what books everyone has around them. I read The Secret Life of Bees, too, and thought it was an astounding good read.
