We have been snowed on. Snow everywhere and no wind. It clings to every surface it can find and has been smothering us for days. No wind. No sun. Nothing has come to disturb the snow. I took a drive the other day and just felt lonely. Not a bad lonely, just alone. I sometimes wish that the blogger friends (you) were around the corner or down the street. Someone with a like mind and similar interests to pass the time with. This is the next best thing, my PC. I love everyone who visits and comments, and I try to wind my way back to your 'home' through profile pages and comments. My work room is coming together, but except for those of you who visit me here, no one who sees it really enjoys it the way I know you would. You would fawn over my jars, bins and cubbies, the collections I have been so hard to work on. We could share laughter, ideas and inspirations. Then I could go and visit yours, and we could do the same. But this is the next best thing.. I will have pics for you soon.. in the mean time, here are some of the surrounding landscapes.. a very monochrome vista just filled to tippy top with whites, greys and more whites.
Can you tell I am in desperate need of Spring?
I have received a lovely bit of brightness and fun from Rosie and will be posting about the absolutely fabulous handbag she made for me shortly.. I need it to brighten up so I can photograph it nicely to show you all. Thank you Dear Rosie!

I totally know what you mean about not having like-minded people around you. My mom always Oo's and Ahh's over my creations, but it's just not the same. Maybe we should put a personal ad in the local paper: ISO foofy-minded people who like to make foofy creative things with cool antique-y stuff! ;)
(I was kinda joking but it actually could be a fun idea.)
The photos of your white landscape are marvelous! I can see how it could give you a sense of isolation. I have been anxious for Spring, yes, but also secretly craving as little as a 6" snow that would just stop the world from rotating even for a couple hours.....just to get that quiet, closed in feeling.
In your area, you have had enough! Here's hoping for an early Spring. ((hugs)) Rosie
I guess I'm what you bloggers call a lurker but only because I don't have the talent with the computer that the rest of you do. I know exactly what you mean about like-minded people - I pray for a neighbor/best friend to share my creative side with. But in the meantime I can get so much pleasure from your blog - thanks for helping me through the days!!
Oh, and I LOVE snow!
Oh, my, it's like Narnia - 100 years of winter and no Christmas. Although it sounds like you're little handbag was a bright light for a few moments! I've just redesigned my "craft room" and it sounds just like your new workspace... can't wait to see the pics (and working on pics of mine too.) You've taken lovely photos of the snow... hope you have a happy weekend and spring comes soon!
Best,
Jen
Hang in there Abbie, Spring is coming!!! I can't wait to see your pictures. It would be great to share our collections and finds.
Have a great weekend, janie
hi Abbie, I hope you're feeling better. Check out my latest post.
Have a peaceful and love-filled weekend.
Jeannie
Sunnispace is so right...it is like Narnia lately...always winter and never Christmas.
I wondered about the trees today because they are so heavily laden with snow that I can't imagine what another foot of snow is going to do to them.
Abbie, have you ever considered teaching an adult-ed class? It can be a wonderful way to find others interested in similar pursuits and the sky's the limit as far as subject material. I've taken everything from wreath-making to cleaning a house in two hours. (That's a story and a half...I'll have to share that one some fine day.)
Can't wait to see what you're pulling together in your craft room.
Hi Abbie thank you for stopping by! Wow you got alot of snow..thats one good thing about living on ocean not much snow..spring Please!
Hi Abbie,
Despite the miles, we all have each other and that is such a wonderful comfort. I'm so grateful for my bloggirl friends :) Like you. I wish I could box up some of our sunshine and send it to you!
Hi, Abbie, what a beautiful snow! And I do like your new look, very pretty.
xo, Rhoda
Oh I SO understand this post Abbie. It's been like this here too -- it's been dull, dull, dull and it does feel lonely when we're socked in. The sun is out today -- and it's like a breath of fresh air. I pine for spring!!
Oh my gosh, Abbie, I will immediately stop complaining about winter, because we have it nowhere near as badly as you do! The pictures are beautiful to look at, but I sure wouldn't want to deal with all that snow. Narnia, indeed!
I wish you lived close by -- we would have so much fun! I like Vee's idea of an adult class; hard when you have kids, though...
Hope spring comes soon for you!
xoxo,
Mary
