Studio Friday: View from Above

(some of my toile fabrics)
"My husband and I went flying this past weekend and I had so much fun taking aerial pictures. Amazing what things you see everyday look like from above. It just got me thinking "what would my desk look like from above?" I have a feeling I would find some inspiration somewhere in there!"
-Michelle

Well.. I tried. I guess I'm not tall enough. Actually I thought about taking images of my dresser drawers (I store all of my sewing stuff in it) open in a stairstep pattern and showing the contents but that wouldn't have been good. I don't even like looking in them.. (and its not a nice dresser) so.. I picked out my favorite of all fabrics. Toile! I ADORE toile. Any and all. Now, my husband and I live in NH and we have the traditional New England colonial home, complete with the Windsor chairs and soapstone counters, and I am finding it hard to incorporate my love for toiles in the house. So here is my first attempt. I need to do some curtains for the entry windows to match, but even my husband likes the cushions. (very functional) I struggled through, broke a needle or two, preservered and voila! The 'view from above' is marvelous.. (usually too cluttered to see the cushions, but I know the toile is there and that's what matters!)
