A few precious moments..

I was able to get some time away this weekend with my momma. Well sortof. ( I took Baby A with me) We went to Merdith, NH and visited one of my most favorite secondhand shops, The Etcetera Shop. I have had marvelous luck with antique buttons, vintage linens and old books there. I heard one of the ladies yesterday say that they have over 12,000 (yep..THOUSAND) consigners from around the country. I found a pair of linen towels that are completely handstiched. Including all the hems. Micro, tiny stitching. Most delightful and made me smile immediately! I got both for $8.50. You can't buy brand new, 'made in China' handtowels from Walmart for that. Someone spent hours and hours bent over these and they will find a place of love in my home as soon as I wash and press them.

Those are gorgeous! I love old linens, I have a lot of my grandmother's and great-grandmother's that they stitched. If only I had that kind of patience!

what a wonderful find! They reminded me of a hanky my grandmother made for me decades ago. What are you going to do with them?; I saw some pillows made out of items like this recently.

I'm not sure how I am going to use them yet. I have also seen sachets and clothes hanger covers made from them. For now, I hate to do anything that will alter them quite yet. We'll see! I'll let you know!
