Seven things and six days...

OK. I've been tagged by Anke to share with you seven random things about myself. Well, seven things would be quite boring, so I thought I'd try to put pics with each. I just love to peruse images from others peoples lives so I thought I'd share the Good, the Bad and the Ugly about Abbie.

1.) I was a very homely child. No kidding and no laughing. OK. You can laugh. I know I do, every time I peek at this pic.

2.) My daughters did not inherit my looks.. Praise the Lord! hehehe...
3.) I spent ten days in Russia when it was still under Communist Rule. I was blown away by the the subway in Moscow. Here is a pic I took of it..

4.) I have two brothers, the one on the left is heading to Afghanistan in two weeks and it terrifies me.

5.) I have always dreamed of having my own shop ever since I had my picture taken in front of this one, somewhere in the United Kingdom. I don't recall where it was, but it stayed with me. Someday I hope to open a 'real' shop, complete with art supplies, scrapbooking items, trims and specialty fabrics. (Yep.. that's me, I know. I still hadn't 'blossomed' yet..)

6.) I am married to my dream man and live in my dream home. (house pics in previous post..)

7.) Although I am all backed up and behind on my Christmas wrapping and I have no holiday spirit this year, I am grateful for my screaming children, barking dogs, dirty dishes and loads of laundry for they signify how absolutely rich my life truly is and I would be completely lost without them.

PS.. Only six days 'til Christmas! Aaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!

oh.. and I have to tag 3 people.. do I even know three people? hmm... OK.. Rosie, Donna, and Anne. For those I've tagged, it is purely optional, and you may definitely wait 'til after the holidays! Cheers!

Hee Hee! Those big plastic framed glasses of the 80s ... I had them, too - only I was wearing them in high school. Ewwww. :-)

Well, you're certainly not homely now! I had big ugly glasses when I was in Junior High, too. I can't believe I ever liked them!
Godspeed to your brother. Servicemen like him are my heroes.

Abbie,
I'm so happy you came by and took the time to leave a comment...I love to meet new friends...

Your children are beautiful...such a blessing I know....your home is lovely....so sorry about your father-in-law....

We visited the New England states years ago and I remember how pretty New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont were. We were there in August. From movies, the snow must give it a whole different look.....we have very little snow in the south. Once every five years....maybe...

Merry Christmas to you and those you love....I'll be back to visit and I hope you will also...Betty

Abbie, thanks for visiting my blogs...it's a pleasure to get to know you and I loved these seven random things!! Perhaps because we share some similarities...I never liked how I looked as a child either (though I think your photo is cute!)...you are quite beautiful and I think women like us grew into our beauty! I too dream of having my own shop...just as you describe the one you would like...I'd also like to add a cafe and items I've made, plus others that I think would be of interest. And I have no Christmas spirit either..just came in from shopping and Santa Claus is Coming to Town was playing on the speakers..I turned to the woman beside me in the men's clothing rack and said "oh wouldn't it be great if he really would and we could just walk out of here right now?"...not really bah humbug...just tired and can't get my head around the fact that it's Christmas already! Everything else you describe is enough for me too!!

Love the photo of the Moscow subway..that must have been a very enlightening trip.

I can only imagine how you are feeling about your brother going to the Middle East...I will keep him and you in my prayers.

I am adding you to my blog roll at Sage and at Esprit.

Abbie, I love the picture of your husband and your son -- so sweet -- and your daughters are beautiful! Yes, you are rich in many ways and, to be perfectly honest, I'm sure a lot of us aren't feeling the HO-ho-ho at the moment!

Oh, and I had baby blue cat eye glasses in 2nd grade! Yikes!

Have a very merry Christmas!
xoxo,
Mary

Abbie - I so know how you feel about your brother going...as you know already about my son...it is such horrid feeling..I will pray that he always stays safe...and comes home soon!!!
The pics were wonderful - I did not laugh - I thought they were terrific memories...but it is good you laugh..but this is also the reason I do not show pics of me --LOLOL.
To have your own shop sounds awesome!! Too bad you do not live closer - we do not have shops like that around here (sniff sniff)..I hope your thursday is wonderful and that the spirit of the season fills you and your home!!
Loved your random things - thanks for sharing it all
Peace--Ellie
