Snow!

We have been dumped on the past week. Two fairly large snow storms that just seem to add to the white endless winter. Here is a peek out my windows. The only ones who truly enjoy it are the squirrels. The table is covered in birdseed that the poor birds can't get at, and the squirrels have a huge network of tunnels allowing them exclusive access.

If that squirrel is not the cutest creature! Squirrels are certainly brave when it comes to winter weather. Nothing will stop them from their next meal. Such a great photo opportunity.

Yes, I am trying to celebrate, trying, trying...

Hope that you have fun things up your sleeve...sledding? hot chocolate? cookies? crafts?

What an adorable squirrel you caught with your photo. He looks none the worse for the trouble.

You know, coming from a country where it's been nothing but scorching heat and devestating bushfires this summer (your winter), your photos are like a beautiful haven where one forgets the intolerable heat, and where I can immerse myself into a blanket of cool embrace.

Thank You from Australia.

Wow, I will never complain about winter in NJ again!

Well, not anytime soon, anyway...

Your photos are beautiful, Abbie, even though I know that it is a big pain in the patootie to get around in...

Love the tunneling squirrel! :)

looks like Narnia, especially with the lamp post. I know it's a pain after the initial prettiness has worn off, but there is a winter wonderland-ness about it. we are just having dust storms all the time at the moment. Not life threatening like the Aus fires, but a huge drag.
the squirel is cute too - a big ahh from my daughter.

Hi Abbie, oh this is a lot of snow we haven't seen in years now. I'm sure you pretty fed up with it, but believe me this dull greyish, brownisch weird green landscape here in Winter is not better. My kids loved the photo with the squirrl! Toooo funny!!!!! I'm doing pretty good and can't wait till some green shows up in the landscape, so let's hope we see it soon! Smiles, Anke ;)

Squirrels are so funny. They will do anything for food. We grew some sunflowers last summer and we thought birds were stealing all the seeds until we came home one days with a squirrel sitting on top of the sunflower having a snack. Sneaky little guys.

Gosh, this sure looks like home. We live a bit south of you from the depth of the snow I see in your photos. But all the same we have been snow covered in Southern NH since Thanksgiving. Now the deer are coming every night and have been bold enough to leave their tracks all across the front lawn as well as in the back nearest their forest hideaways.

I love the image of the squirrel peeking out of the snow. We have little tunnels like that appearing in the oddest places.

Well shoot! Another year of me being jealous! But at least we did get a couple of snow days this year. You would have laughed your tail off with how hopeless we were. Stay warm! xoxo

That squirrel is the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. They are clowns. I stood the longest time taking pictures of my resident circus squirrel trying to get at our bird feeder and you have a front row seat for this one.

I have never ever seen a squirrel building tunnels through the snow! Your squirrel image made me laugh out loud, so funny! Clever fellow! :-)
