To Bee or Not to Bee...

I'm so happy that these fellows are back this year.. the past few years we really haven't had many bees around. We couldn't get near the blackberries behind our house, they were swamped with bumbles, yellow jackets and white tipped wasps (none of which I'd like to get too up close and personal with).

That's a nice shot of the bee on the flower. Insect photos are a challenge even when said insect is busy collecting pollen! Your photos are always a joy to behold.

Hi Abbie, what a wondeful photo! I don't like wasps either....kind of aggressive over here this year. But summer is soon over and the wasps will be gone soon too.....
Smiles, Anke ;)

Oh that is good news. I was just thinking about bees as I was using the remnants of the honey jar. We must get to the bee man right away for we can't be without honey in allergy season.

Hope that your autumn is lovely, Abbie!

I think this is a (harmless) hoverfly...

btw Bumble bee's are cute, a little bit dumb (compared to bee's) and harmless.
(at least on my side of the world they are)
(...and the pesty wasp's are usefull too)

Love that you catched the colour of the asters, I'm trying that with ours for three years now, but I can't get their soft tone.
(I have a simple camera)
:o)

Thanks for all the beauties you give to us, I'll add the new website link to my sitebars asap.
